I live part time in Hawaii, on the Big Island. I eat coconuts almost every day. I drink them and smash them with a machete. I'm a knife, flashlight, and tool snob. I like well-made tools that get the job done. I can't believe how affordable this coconut knife is and how well made it is. And it works great! It has a beveled edge enough to slide into and remove even the toughest coconut meat, but it's not sharp enough to slice through you. There is another excellent knife on the market, but it has a very large blade curvature and is not easy to carry in a pocket or backpack. This is a fantastic tool, if you love coconuts this is your tool. Remember, I'm mostly referring to Hawaiian coconuts with varying degrees of meat in the shell. For Thai coconuts, which are basically "spoon meat," all you need is a spoon to scrape off the flesh.
