This pad is thin, durable, and very finely textured—just enough texture to add feel to the mouse, but not enough to compromise precision and responsiveness. It's big enough to provide enough space for full-screen movement with good fidelity, but not so big that it clutters the desktop. As mentioned, the rubberized bottom surface is quite thin, but that's not a problem on a flat table. I'm not a gamer. I do a lot of art work, photo retouching and graphic design. I used to use a very smooth hard surface, but I like this one much better. The only question that remains for me is: will it withstand the heavy use for a long time?
