I love Birkenstocks. They are my primary choice in footwear. My black leather pair needed to be replaced so I gave these a shot at about 25% the cost. Unfortunately, they are also, IMO, about 25% as good.The cork is hard and definitely going to break. The "leather" is cheap, flimsy, and so weak that it doesn't hold its shape. It's also not soft on the inside like Birkenstocks are. It has sharp edges. They seem to be slightly lower towards the toes too on my pair. The top sole was hard and not comfy like Birkenstocks. The bottom is slick and not as grippy as Birkenstocks.I'm not sure how anyone who has worn real Birkenstocks could ever switch to these. I am guessing that the high rating is because people don't know what they are missing. Birkenstocks are worth the price. I'm returning these and paying for the real stuff.
