My old 1967 Sapphire Beetle AM radio's volume control died. I wanted to keep the old radio in the dash to keep my stock look. I took out the dead volume potentiometer, the lightbulb in the radio and all the old AM electronics. I left the tuning mechanism intact, including the knob, pin, and mechanical preset switches. This circuit board fits perfectly where the old volume knob used to be. I cut a D-shank out of an old pot and attached it to this board's split knurled shank. An old ballpoint pen is perfect for this. Replaced an old 2 watt incandescent bulb with an LED and resistor, replaced the old single speaker with two 50 watt 4 inch/4 ohm stereo speakers that fit perfectly in the old single speaker hidden in the dash. I put everything back in place and now have a Bluetooth radio in the normal radio instead of the old AM radio. Nothing but stock. I can listen to stored music, music/radio apps and navigate from my iPhone. Everything still looks like a skeleton. The volume on/off switch works just like the original. One caveat: the volume knob on this board has an on/off click on the far left, but it doesn't turn off the bluetooth receiver portion of the board; It just turns off the amp. Install it on a power source that is turned on by the ignition, otherwise it will drain the battery.
