First of all, the concept of this product is great. It works great, penetrating deep into the fibers of the carpet and loosening dirt and debris that has built up over time. For example, we recently bought a 1 year old SUV from a dealer near the beach. The interior looked like it was immaculate. Every crack and crevice was clean. I was moving a few items that had a bit of dirt on the carpet so I decided to use this one to clean up the dirt. He cleaned up the dirt with ease and then began removing the sand from the beach. Lots of sand. So when the device works, it works amazing! That being said, I'm giving it three stars for the following reasons. 1. If you want to replace the air hose connector with a different one (I wanted to replace mine with a better one as the one that fits doesn't fit well and is leaking), good luck finding the right thread. This uses what I thought was the standard 1/4" NPT thread for other air hose fittings. Wrong. It uses a 1/4" thread, but it's a flimsy thread I couldn't find anywhere. So keep that in mind if this is a change you want to make.2. The water/solution bottle has a small rubber hose with a weighted ball on the end that allows the hose to stay at the lowest point in the container. Good idea, but the hose only allows the ball to go 2/3 to the bottom of the container. So if you use it at the right angle, you can only use 2/3 of the cleaning solution before the hose reaches it. Tilting the unit forward to clean at a downward angle drops the weight about halfway down. Same problem. You can't use all the cleaning liquid.3. Below the trigger is a pin valve that opens and lets in air when the trigger is pulled. The nut that holds this pin valve has a very poorly fitting thread that prevents it from being fully tightened and lets a lot of air out of the pin valve compared to the nozzle of the cleaning gun. This unit is poorly built, but despite this, it does a really good job of cleaning.
