Originally purchased for use when playing VR. - Yes, it helps, but you'll be sweating in a Bitsaber or something anyway; but YES, those neck compartments are positioned to keep them out of your hands (unless you're playing a game that requires you to get your hands close to your face, but even then that's fine). strange; on paper it seems like a big deal. But in practice there are some oddities - first, because the fans are close to the body, they sort of collect air in your body's thermal field. The air it blows on you is slightly warmer than the surrounding air in my opinion. Second, the fans aren't that powerful (understandable given their size and weight), so at worst you'll barely notice them even at full power. Third, the noise it makes can be a little annoying, especially if you're not wearing earbuds or headphones. When playing VR, I definitely notice that my headset (g2, same as Index headgear) has an over-ear speaker system. At the same time I like it. It's fine for what it does, but still no better than setting a fan to blow on you. I saw someone wear this at Disneyland, so I think it would probably be good for walking too.
