I needed a diffuser and have wanted a compact hair dryer for a long time, after reading many reviews I settled on this one. That's incredible value. I've been a hairstylist for 8 years and this hair dryer is salon quality for a fraction of the price and very light! I've seen some people say it doesn't heat up enough, but ionic dryers don't need to heat up to create shine as they use negative ions to close the hair shaft (cold air). To cut drying time in half, dry your hair by 70% by holding your head upside down and blow drying, starting at the roots to remove excess water. Once your hair is no longer damp and only slightly damp, start with sections and a round brush from the bangs/fringes and then work your way up from the back of your head. You can achieve a smooth, polished salon blow dry in 15-20 minutes at most. For longer or curly hair, first use a flat brush to straighten it and then use a round brush or curling iron. I liked the one stroke idea, but since you can't remove excess water from your hair beforehand, it takes just as long (longer than this blow dryer) to get the same quality. Also, the brush is VERY heavy and bulky, I tried changing hands, but it's easy to get burned on a hot stove. The quality of the dryer seems great, only the back plate is my concern, I wish they had extra protection inside to keep hair from being pulled in the dryer. Make sure the hair does not touch the back, always front side out.
