Got this Makita kit because I grew up with Makita tools (my father and grandfather used Makita tools and early battery powered tools when they first started out). I've never had any problems and the quality still seems excellent. I have found the material to be much more durable and very ergonomic. The impact gun works really well. In the exact same use cases, two of my roommate's Ryobi batteries died within a year (he left them plugged in all the time when not in use). I am very happy with my purchase.
