Each model has different reviews, I think buyers are confused. See manufacturer's website. (heyipump dot net) For example. I have this black square. (YDQB4112) 55 gallon connected to (2) large Hikari Bacto Surge sponge filters as it is rated at 60L/hr with a maximum depth of 700mm. I have (2) black and white round ones (YDQB4113) each connected to a 125 gallon XL Hikari Bacto sponge filter. They are rated at 27LPH at 1000mm (more depth than the Black Square but less air, one might be ok but I wanted more air bubbles going through these XL sponges). In a 36 gallon tank I have (1) a Black Fish shape (YDQB4106B) paired with a small Hikari Bacto sponge filter and a 12" bladder wall. Maximum depth 600 mm: 18.6 l/h. ) all hooked up, I have a T-connector and a plastic airflow control valve, if more air enters one side than the other, I can reduce and direct to the other side. Hope that helps.
