Review on πŸ•΅οΈ Hunter Promenade 54-inch Indoor Ceiling Fan with LED Lights and Remote Control in Brittany Bronze by Rich Fiedler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Risked it after reading some reviews in Revain. Glad you did!

I hope this information helps potential buyers: Overview. I installed this fan on 06/13/2019 in the 17ft x 17ft master bedroom. I was looking for a quiet fan with the ability to move a lot of air for a hot/dry California summer. I also needed a fan with enough light to provide the only light source for the master bedroom. For this reason I looked for fans with few outlets and not with closed screens. The fan worked perfectly. Very quiet. At night I don't hear it at all even though it sits over me when I'm in bed. At its top speed (I think it's 6 speeds) it's moving an impressive amount of air. I don't anticipate ever needing a 5th or 6th speed setting while sleeping (too much wind). The lamps do their job very well and make a large room very bright. So I'm a big fan of this fan (pun intended). Installation is the same as any other ceiling fan. I had no problems. There are many videos online on how to install ceiling fans. The fan is a bit heavier than other fans I've installed, but not insanely heavy. After everything was installed and connected to the power, the fan started working without any problems. The remote control receiver module on the fan is located inside the fan housing. There is no access to it unless you disassemble the case. So if you're hoping to change the frequency setting on the receiver or remote, that's not an option. Receiver and remote control are paired at the factory. The fan has no notable tension chains. Please note that this fan is only controlled by remote control! Exploitation. As other reviewers have pointed out, the fan unit (not the remote) beeps every time you send a command to it with the remote. While this can be annoying and totally unforgivable if someone is sleeping in the room, I find this feature useful and necessary as the fan will beep to let me know that it has indeed received a command. Every time you turn on the fan function, it takes a few seconds for the fan blades to actually start spinning. Once it starts up, it goes through a sort of equilibrium evolution where the fan blades slowly spin back and forth in both directions before actually spinning at full speed. The initial beep indicates that the fan has indeed received your command to spin. First, I turned on the fan (it beeped), and when nothing happened for about a second, I pressed the button again, essentially turning the fan off. Now I've learned to trust the beep when I turn on the fan. As soon as I hear the beep, I leave knowing that the fan blades will start spinning in a few seconds. If you can't wait about 4 seconds after pressing a button for the fan to actually spin, this fan isn't for you! (I don't have much patience myself, but the delay doesn't bother me.) Remote Control - The remote control that came with the fan works incredibly well. The connection between fan and controller is perfect. Every time I press a button on the remote, the fan beeps, telling me it's received a command. It is not necessary to press the button more than once for the fan to receive a command. I mounted the remote on the wall about 8 feet away with no connection issues. Summary: I bought this fan for about $300. While it's a bit cool for a fan, I think it's worth the price considering I can get a brand new one at my local hardware store for $50. I would buy it again without hesitation. I will be keeping an eye on it in the near future and if it ever goes on sale I will be buying 2 more to replace the old fans in my house! The fan looks non-standard and expensive. My wife loves the look and I appreciate the high quality of its construction.
