I ended up returning this product because the battery compartment wouldn't close. And it wasn't just that it couldn't close, it was also that its design didn't allow it to close like it was supposed to. The "locking mechanism" was too short when the base was rotated to the locked position so it wouldn't slip into the plastic lip it was supposed to snap to. I can't really describe it well, but it just didn't close. I've tried closing and locking it (with and without the right size batteries), my sister tried, my mom, my brother. It was done wrong and couldn't close. Maybe I just got one of the bad ones and the others will work just fine, but I wouldn't recommend buying tbh.
