As most people know, every hair root has an attendant nerve... which is why pulling on your hair is uncomfortable (painful). Epilators have a series of mating metal plates that when connected form tweezers. For example, for an epilator, forty "tweezers" have twenty pairs of plates. The fact is that a large number of tweezers rotates rapidly, grabbing one hair at a time and pulling it out. Yes, UNCOMFORTABLE! Positive? Each time a hair is plucked from the same follicle, the connection between the root and the nerve is weakened and therefore less painful. After a few cycles, the pain usually goes away. And no, nothing really helps against the pain. Epilators should only be used when the area is under tension...loose skin can become tangled in the tweezers. And yes, most likely you will get a wound (bleeding). Caution should be exercised when using it near sagging skin (testicles, labia, etc.). Some (most) epilators are designed to minimize tension on the skin when plucking. Some epilators are better than others. Some of them are downright dangerous! I'm a mechanical engineer and a long time epilator user. I bought most, if not all, looking for the safest (minimal skin impact). I can confirm that this epilator is the SAFEST and has the least effect on the skin. The designers placed the skin barriers in the perfect spot; The hair is safely removed and the skin is usually stripped. ALWAYS pull skin taut when applying... ALWAYS! Pull the skin as taut as possible, make small incisions and let the epilator float on the skin - DO NOT PUSH. Hairs that are at skin level are captured, no pressure on them is required. I've been looking for this epilator for a long time (more than 20 different brands). This is the best I've found so far! Please be careful, use ONLY ON FIRM SKIN, never press, let the epilator hover over the area. I strongly recommend applying alcohol to the head of the tweezers (be careful), allow to dry before use. Using an epilator can lead to serious skin infections, sterilization is MANDATORY! I took the time to write this review to help those who care. Regardless of the amount paid (I bought the most expensive and the cheapest) this epilator ticks all the boxes and gives the best results... the safest results. D
