Review on Red XOSS Bike Phone Support - Aluminium Alloy Cellphone Holder for Mountain Bike Bicycle Handlebar & Stem - Adjustable Mobile Phone Mount for Highway Vehicles by Andrew Frison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Plus 6 on my 2014 Suzuki Vstrom 650 - recommended!

I bought two XOSS mounts - a stem/handlebar for my bike and a Plus 6 for my motorcycle. Revain's titles/descriptions need some editing as in some places one description links to another. The stem/rudder block was ordered over a month ago - still waiting. The Plus 6 only attaches to the steering wheel, but has an additional bracket that curves around the base of the phone in addition to the clip that holds it in the middle. The other model does not have this additional clamp, but comes with two mounting options - on the handlebars or on the stem. was a bit concerned that the wind might get under it and tip it over. Having seen it in action at 75 mph, I'm not worried about that. Another model will also work. Windshield/dashboard/bonnet doesn't let in as much wind. Nice surprise feature. I see comments about feet scratching the phone. I think the person forgot to put the foam stickers on the clamp legs. There is no good reason why this could damage your phone. I have a Samsung S6 in a slim Tech21 case and it fits the case well. The case is also rubberized so it dampens vibrations (love this case, highly recommend). A bulky case is likely a problem. The clamp feet are conveniently placed to bypass the volume/power buttons on my phone. You have to use your brain when tightening the thumbscrew. It's not a vice that you just keep turning until your phone warps or cracks the screen (saw some comments/pics like this one too - right?). Gently tuck your thumb in and it didn't budge at 75 mph for over an hour. I don't think the extra rubber mount I see on sale in related products is necessary, but if it eases your head it will be bulletproof. Even when it loosens hair (not mine) the clips curve over the top edge of the phone so it's still secure. You need to open the jaws a good 3/8 inch to have enough clearance to get the phone out of the clamp. You'll know something's wrong long before your phone is in danger.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
