I ordered this for my 12 year old daughter ahead of an upcoming trip. Both she and I tried this table by sitting on the floor and in a chair and it's comfortable for a short while. I don't know how long it would be comfortable, but I think as long as your back and back can take it depending on your posture. The seat is smooth and minimally obtrusive, so you can barely feel it underneath you. I suppose when we're ready to remove the table it's going to be weird to hide since it's oddly shaped. We haven't gotten it to the car yet, but there are concerns about the safety of the car. For example, I wouldn't use it next to an airbag or in the front seat. The table is made of heavy plastic. This plastic seems strong enough to make it difficult to damage the table. The table will flex from the base when you place a significant amount of weight on it. It is convenient to hold or write on a small laptop. The size of the desk is a bit small, it would be nice if there was a pull out part that could be pulled out from either side for a mouse or extra work space. Texture on the table is minimal, so the matte finish doesn't interfere with writing on the paper. The color we ordered is dark blue, but it is very dark, almost black. Overall we are happy with this purchase. It seems like a useful item when you need a work surface to sit on the floor or in the back seat of your car. Due to the odd shape and lack of foldability for easy storage, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a portable option. I could certainly use this as an alternative seating option in schools if only the work surface were a bit larger.
