After good experience with the larger version we recently bought a 3/4 strainer. We've owned the 5 quart version for a few months and its little brother doesn't look like it. It is much easier to clean than a wire strainer but has the same drainage properties. We were looking for a colander with rubber handles and rubber feet. The selection wasn't that big. We considered the OXO option but were put off by reports of problems with drainage and water retention in the gum. There are no such problems with KitchenAid versions. We also wanted thicker steel for strength and durability and found that in these products. The 5Q version is very large; both tall and wide, and we probably use it about 20% of the time we use the 3Q version. 3Q fits into 5Q case for easy storage.
