Inexpensive machine for super machines. It makes good espresso and has some nice features like adjustable strength and adjustable grinder. It also has a water filter cartridge and water hardness setting, but it's not clear how that works. The bypass spout for ground coffee is also a nice feature. Many of them are not available on comparable machines at a similar price. Cons: The metal plate that the mugs stand on cannot be scratched with normal use. It looks worn and old after a week of use. The amount of water that can be used at once is not adjustable. You can brew either regular volume espresso or "coffee" that lets through too much water and ends up with over-extracted bitter coffee. You need to prepare an espresso and then add the required amount of hot water. The bean hopper design is poor and the beans often don't go down and need to be shuffled manually for it to work as mentioned by others. For a car of this price, the design needed to be tested and improved. Finally, calling the top of the machine a cup warmer borders on cheating. According to this ad, my car has a cup warmer on the hood. In fact, it will work much better if it actually heats up.
