brighter than old incandescent bulbs. That's blue light. Looks like the nameplate is illuminated on BMW and Lexus. That's why I bought them. Change the bulbs in the OE panel on my 2013 Frontier. However, I encountered a problem during installation. The LED is longer than the old bulbs. The small plastic housing in the bumper, into which the bulb socket is screwed, is flat. Just deep enough to accommodate old glass flasks. So I installed them in another car's side marker. First I noticed a flicker. I rotated the bulb, reversed the polarity, and the flickering went away. They lasted about 4 months with no problems. They may not be suitable for all 194 lamp applications but they are inexpensive so worth trying.
