Not Impressed: My Thoughts on the 5.5W Laser Module Kit

I recently purchased the 5.5W 450Nm Blue-Violet Laser Module Kit for my CNC machine, and overall, I have mixed feelings about it. Firstly, the TTL/PWM engraving head is a nice addition, making it easy to control the intensity of the laser. However, I found that the overall power of the laser wasn't as impressive as I expected it to be. Despite being listed as 5.5W, it didn't seem to pack the same punch as other lasers I've worked with in the past. The installation process was also a bit of a headache. It took me longer than I anticipated to set it up, and the instructions were not as clear as I would have liked. Additionally, the kit doesn't come with a dedicated cooling system, so I had to purchase one separately. This added extra costs to what I had already paid for the kit. On the positive side, the laser module is quite compact and fits nicely on my CNC machine. It's also relatively quiet, so it won't be a major distraction while I'm working on projects. Lastly, the customer service provided by the seller was great, and they were quick to respond to any questions I had. Overall, I would rate this product 3 out of 5 stars. While I appreciate some of the features, the lack of power and difficulty installing it make it difficult to recommend.

Pros
  • Versatile application
Cons
  • The powerful 450Nm blue-violet laser beam emitted by this module can be hazardous to eyes and skin even in small doses. Accidental or improper use can result in serious injuries, burns, or blindness. Adequate protective gear and safety measures must be in place before operating the device
