Farewell rescue cases!

I have been using Lifeproof cases for at least 6 years. As soon as I upgrade my phone, no questions asked, I'll immediately buy a rescue case for my new phone for about $60-$80 each depending on the discount. I've been using the Lifeproof FRE case for a year and have had to change it 5 times under their warranty with no questions asked as the micro USB door won't close after about 2 months. This is a design flaw. I had to pay $5 shipping for each of my replacement cases. That's an additional $25 on top of what I already had to pay for the original purchase of my rescue kit. Don't believe me the price has gone down online and the reviews are bad. Since the micro USB flap stopped working, my micro USB port broke and now I can only charge my phone wirelessly. I wanted a new case that would protect my charging port without costing me an arm and a leg, have a nice design, and of course, have good reviews. I received my case yesterday and after about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to open the case I was able to slip my Samsung S7 inside. The only reason I'm deducting points is the lack of written instructions for the case. There's a QR code that you have to scan and then watch the video or type in a ridiculously long YouTube video address. I've never used a QR scanner and didn't have an app installed on my phone. I decided to try and figure out how to open the case and it didn't work. I then resorted to downloading a QR scanner app and then scanning the code and watching a YouTube video. 5 minutes work to get a 40 second video to figure out how to put my phone in the case. The video made no sense until the last 20 seconds when it shows you how to take your phone out of the case. A simple piece of paper with instructions would have saved me the 6 minutes it took me to find the QR app, download it, scan the QR code, connect to YouTube, and then about 40 seconds to watch the video . This is my only complaint. . I like this case more than my rescue case, it's lighter and $40-$60 cheaper. I don't have to unscrew the headphone jack or use an adapter. Charging port covers are easier to close. The screen protector seems to make my screen brighter than my rescue kit screen, the buttons on my phone are more clicky and not spongy like in my rescue kit. I love that this case looks better than the rescue case, it's lighter and makes my phone look smaller too and it comes with a holster unlike the rescue case. If this case lasts until my next upgrade I will not be buying another rescue case and will stick with this brand.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says it is

Well made. An easy decision over pricey Otterbox
