I have an almost 3 year old boy who absolutely adores giving me heart attacks. He once knocked over his dresser after pulling out all the drawers and climbing onto them. This is a VERY solid high quality dresser and quite heavy. my husband had tested it full weight before and didn't think it would tip over. so we didn't back it up. Good. when I heard a SLAP and tears and ran into his room in my sleep. I found him lying on the floor with a dresser hanging over him with a small cut over his eye. If he hadn't opened the bottom drawer, which supported the full weight of the dresser and thankfully didn't snap shut or slam shut, I might have gotten into an entirely different scene. Taking it as a VERY good warning shot, I hugged my little man and vowed to eliminate this threat immediately. I ordered these straps, they came VERY quickly, my husband fitted them. He had no problems, the directions are very easy. Based on other reviews, we bought higher quality screws to be on the safe side. The dresser is now very secure and I am grateful I had the opportunity to do something to keep my little ones safe. If in doubt about tying your furniture, don't. bind him. because I know I would never forgive myself if my child were seriously injured or killed by something so easily preventable.
