I was looking for a good, simple sewing machine for small repairs on clothing or household items. I didn't foresee any embroidery or anything complicated. The cheap cars I saw in stores were just plain cheap: light, poorly made, with dull manuals and flimsy accessories. Similar models on the Internet received indifferent or negative reviews. I decided to spend a little more than originally planned and see what else is available. I stopped at this car because it had at least a 4 star rating. I am very happy with my purchase! The car has everything the critics have been talking about: solid, light, a real little workhorse. This was my first experience with a top loading spool and I had no problems. Setup was easy and the instructions are clear. From the first repair (sewing the open seam on the pants) this machine has met my expectations. Reliability will tell, but if the other reviewers are right I can expect years of use.
