The device itself is fine. In fact, only colored curls move - the projections of stars and moons are completely static and unchanging. Not so hot what's up. Still a pretty nice effect in a dark room. My main complaint is that the device seems to go to sleep after a random amount of time, maybe a few hours, I haven't timed it exactly. There is no setting in the app to disable this behavior, at least I couldn't find it. And if he falls asleep, he CANNOT be woken up by smart home controls like Alexa. It simply reports that the device is not responding. The only way to wake it up is to physically flip the switch or turn it off and reconnect to power. That makes the smart home integration almost useless. It cannot be planned. It cannot be activated via smart home controls. The integration only works for changing color/brightness and turning off. If it were obvious I would certainly pay 50% more for a better device.
