a little below the norm for me. I was expecting more softness of the fabric. It is very thin with almost no pillows. There was also a patch at the entrance to one of the holes that we had to cut out due to a glue line or whatever, resulting in a hard plastic sensitive area that we were concerned our cat would get hurt/cut on. My biggest issue with this is how light it is. Our cat is too scared to jump on the perch because the whole thing is in danger of tipping over. (Honestly our cat is quite small but not as agile as most) Definitely not the same as when I was a kid :(
