Review on Proraso Refresh Shaving Soap Bowl - 5.2 Oz by Jason Havens

Like a wet shaver for about 3 years, ever heard of this soap. I've heard stories about its cooling, refreshing properties and how it's a classic and staple in any wet razor's office. I took and tried this soap together with the cream before and after the shave. First, after a good facial cleansing, I applied the before and after cream. The tingling begins. I've read that it's better to leave this substance on your face for a minute or "work" it. About 5 seconds later it was like an artillery blast hit me in the face. I start with a foaming process that is different from other shaving soaps. It's more of a "grain" in that it's milder than regular soap but much harder than cream. About 10 seconds after loading a brush is A LOT. I'd rather lather my face than a bowl, so I'll start lathering. I use tap water hot enough to evaporate, but all I feel is the icy numbness of the menthol. That feeling, or lack thereof, depending on how you choose to view it, persisted through all three passes, and there was still enough soap left in the brush to do at least three more passes. After rinsing off, I applied a little pre/after shave cream as an after shave lotion and the effect is not that noticeable. About 15 minutes after shaving, the menthol is gone and I don't feel any irritation or dryness. I will buy this stuff as long as Proraso makes it!
