Very strong magnets. Used to attach homemade bug nets to vehicle and they stick very well. My two year old grabbed them as they were being assembled and somehow one broke and pinched his finger hard enough to form a small bloody blister (they are very strong!). So. Yes they can break but I was still able to use the broken piece and it was a good buy for me - buy more.
