Review on πŸ”Œ ICEVEIN USB to Audio External Stereo Sound Adapter (2 Pack) with 3.5mm Headphone and Microphone Jacks - USB Audio Device for Windows, Mac, Linux, PC, Laptops, Desktops, PS4 - Rose-Gold & Space-Grey by James Lesley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Standard input for headphones and microphone

Purchased a kit to use as a high quality audio output for Raspberry Pi computers. A great option for a Pi Zero with an OTG host cable as it's fairly small and works great with any version of Linux-based operating systems (also tested on macOS Catalina 10.15.4 and Windows 10 out of the box). Don't expect miracles from a $5 DAC/amp, it's just unreasonable given the extremely low cost of these modules. But for the money - a solid purchase in terms of value. No external volume control, software controlled settings to use, and there's very likely to be quite a bit of noise from Wi-Fi running on the same computer (to be expected, more money invested == less noticeable glitches, but almost impossible to avoid any Eliminate USB-based solution entirely (I2S would be the best value for money, albeit at least three times the price). However, solid build quality cannot say volumes about a product's longevity/longevity. It's going to be VERY hard to beat at $5 apiece here - 85% of the population would rate it as "good enough" but if you want quality sound spend the extra money on a real DAC/amp (pick up a B-stock Schiit Fulla 2, currently $60 for the bare minimum of sound that a music lover wouldn't call trash).

Pros
  • External sound cards
Cons
  • Slightly dented
