This device does everything it says it does, costs a lot less than any other big name device and gives more results. I use this to feed my 1080 video capture card, an output to my 4K HDR TV, and an output to my soundbar's HDMI input. It is properly downscaled to my capture card and the original signal remains intact when going through my HDR 10 enabled @ 4K TV and Dolby Vision HDR. It doesn't include EDID switches, but they don't seem needed for my application. I have used a signal splitter and it has been error free for about 2 weeks except for one incident where I had to cycle it to get the 1080 output back while my TV signal stayed fine.
