Definitely one of the best heart rate chest straps. Why? Here's why: 1) Super durable, I've had it for years. Soft straps break after a few months of use or just don't read well. 2) The battery is very easy to change. The biggest problem with soft strap monitors is that you have to remove those small screws from the device when it comes time to replace the battery. The screws are so weak that you can tear them off very easily. This heart rate strap has a very simple design, any coin can be used to unscrew the device to get to the battery. Deleting is not possible unless you do it on purpose. 3) Maybe it's just me, but I get better readings with a hard band than a soft band. 4) Cheaper than soft tape. I know people tend to go for the lightest high tech item, but this item is built to last. Yes, you can feel it on your chest more than a padded strap, but who cares. Over time you get used to it. This comes from those running 60 to 75 miles a week depending on the season.
