As a photographer, I know that quality is more important than junk when it comes to gear. In the world of photography, some expensive things aren't worth the money. You can find great deals that stand up to more expensive items too. For $25.00 including 2 day shipping, you can't go wrong. This item serves as a set of light stands to hold a remote control flash or some other light items. These coasters can also be used for various projects around the house if needed (I bought them for a non-photography project). However, I would NOT place a heavy umbrella, backdrop, or large and expensive lighting system on these stands. They just aren't strong enough to carry the weight. Pros: 1. PRICE 2. Metal construction 3. 3 footrests far enough apart for decent stability 4. Lock rings are plastic but feel sturdy. 5. Simple metal head to attach. 6. Light weight. Cons: 1. Thin rods and expansion slots/connections are very light and don't look like they can carry much weight. The plastic collar helps stabilize the bars but can break under heavy weight. Overall: I would buy them again for $25 if I needed a simple, lightweight, or portable flash setup. At just 6 feet tall, this set is limited to studio lighting. It's worth 4 starts for me if I get exactly what I expected (a decent set of coasters for a low price).
