Review on πŸš— iKiKin M11 Car HUD Display: GPS OBD2 Dual USB Interface with Alarm Systems & Security, Digital Windshield Projector for All Vehicles by Mark Clark

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great idea, but no.

Brightness, ease of installation and accuracy, which I should rate from 1 to 5, are admittedly all 5 points: The device is absolutely bright and can also work in broad daylight. . It was extremely easy to install, with a perfectly fitting OBD-II connector and no cable routing issues. It also has a very good refresh rate (maybe 0.75 seconds per tick) and was accurate when matched with instructions. The instructions are a must as some calibration will likely be required; In my case the voltage was a very serious problem right away, but very, very easy to fix by following the instructions, setting a variable open circuit voltage from 10 to 13.5v and going back on the road with traffic lights here and there if i set it variable 01 to read the correct speed. I would have saved myself the device without any problems if there wasn't one thing: it was constantly, constantly buggy. I expect one thing from a device like this, and even variations in speed or lagging refresh rates would be acceptable, but it should do at least two things: 1. Don't interfere with my already great device. 2. Works as intended every time. Under Condition 1, I could relatively get it to do what I wanted. The adhesive patch that came with it wasn't enough to keep it in place, but another good quality adhesive patch held it in place. After adjusting the voltage everything was fine. However. To point 2? Forget it. I'm an analytical person, so I look for patterns and try to isolate variables. I did not notice any unusual behavior with this device. Sometimes I would wind up and it worked great all the way. Sometimes I ran and it didn't work at all after showing "0.0V" for a short while. It used to start and work fine for 5 minutes then died. Sometimes I started and it worked great for 5 minutes, died, came back to life and worked great for the rest of the trip. Sometimes it started, worked perfectly, died, came to life, worked normally, seemed to work, then fell and drowned in a swamp. I mean. Oh well. I'm patient, but in the end it was more of a distraction than an improvement and couldn't reasonably be described as working as intended every time. I am returning it complete and have no intention of replacing it; It was a good idea, but spend the money on that stuff you tape between the seat and the center console so you don't drop a dime in the gap. It's just not worth it, much to my dismay.
