My 7 year old who wears a size 8 picked up these Kid Nation Kids Interlock Jogger Joggers with pockets and kept them on for as long as he could! He said he was comfortable and wanted to snuggle up to her like a blanket. I have the big one which is 8-10. (Usually 8-10 is an average). This is regular black sweatpants in a sporty style. My son is tall for his age and wears a size 8. I feel like they are a true size 8. When your son is barely 8, they will be a bit big. I feel like my son has room to grow in them. If your son wears a size 10 but is slightly smaller, you may be fine. I can live with them for a season and a half when it comes to size.
