This is a nicely-packaged little ferro rod. It has a feature I haven't seen in a ferro rod before. It's got rope threaded through the body that you can use as tinder for starting your fires. That's a nice feature. The rod is long enough to give you a good shower of sparks. The handle feels secure in your hand and won't slip. My only issue is the striker. It is not very well made at all. It's nice that it is molded to fit in the package so neatly, but the striker itself doesn't work very well. It lacks a sharp edge or enough little teeth to give you a good shower of sparks. I read other reviews and ended up buying a tool sharpener to use as the scraper. Now, THAT works very well. I am happy with that.
