I use this antenna with the BC125AT to monitor local aviation bands. I haven't noticed an overwhelming difference between this and the standard antenna, but after some very unscientific testing, it appears to be an improvement. When listening indoors with a standard antenna, I have to place the scanner by a window to pick up a local airport that's only a few miles away. It allows me to listen from my desk about 6 feet from the window. Most people may not care, but it's handy for me. Sometimes when I'm at the airport, I can catch planes that even LiveATC can't hear.
