My bar stool was leaking ball bearings and bits of that crappy plastic spacer it was made of. This new pivot replacement was identical to the old one in all major aspects (dimensions) but has a tight pack of ball bearings without the plastic spacer ring. The only downside is that it doesn't spin as freely and feels stiffer. But once you sit on it, it actually rotates normally, but you can no longer rotate the seat of the chair with your hands for fun :D
