Extremely sharp, clear and detailed sound. The highs are sweet and bright, almost to the point of fatigue, but not quite. This adds articulation to the speech. The mids are natural, smooth and detailed. Bass is smooth and punchy, in contrast to the soft but muddy bass on my HD650. I actually like a bit of dirt in my headphones when they are detailed because it makes the headphones more relaxed and although they don't have a character of their own, which I really like. I like them a bit better compared to Moondrop Starfield. You and the Starfield image are slightly different, with Starfield doing the 360 position image better (Starfield does it ridiculously well), the image on the Legacy 3 is enhanced with a depth Starfield just doesn't have. Starfield is a little foggy to my ear, but they boost mid-range detail a bit. It's not that you hear more stuff in the midrange, it just stands out a bit more and so it's less about quality and more about preference. The midrange detail of the Legacy 3 is still good, and if mids are as important to you as I am, you certainly can't go wrong. A good way to describe it is that the Legacy 3's mids are smoother, while the Starfield's mids are a bit more textured. Both are quality. While the mids are a bit more detailed on the Starfield, the highs on the Legacy 3 are MUCH more detailed and give the impression of greater clarity than the Starfield. In terms of overall detail, they're VERY the same and it's really just personal preference on exactly how those details are presented. The best way to describe it is to put it in numbers, so I'll do that.
