Description of 🎧 Thieaudio Legacy 3 - Hybrid Triple Driver In-Ear Monitor (2pin, AW11) for Audiophiles and Musicians

The Legacy series takes the most trusted and established knowledge and designs available in the industry, and presents them in a refreshing and refined manner. Focusing on three primary values - musical tuning, high-fidelity sound quality, life-like listening experience - Thieaudio’s new project aims to redefine the true potential of in-ear monitors for both enthusiasts and professional musicians. So we welcome you to step in, and open your ears to a world of audio like nothing before. The Start of a Legacy. The Thieaudio Legacy 3 was designed to provide an affordable in-ear monitor that would take no cuts in build or audio quality. While the Legacy 3 is an entry model into the Legacy series, its sound is the culmination of all of our skills and knowledge until now, and it falls nothing short of top of its class. In approaching the tuning of the Legacy 3, it had to be balanced and audiophile-grade in order to meet the Legacy series’ standards. Drivers&Tuning. The proprietary 10mm Nano-Membrane dynamic diaphragm driver used in the Legacy 3 is the same high-quality driver as that of its older brother, the Legacy 9. The result is a coherent treble response that extends far, retrieves every detail, yet lacks any unnecessary dips or peaks. The resulting tuning is extremely balanced, with a powerful bass, slightly warm but clean mids, and detailed, yet coherent trebles. We could not be more proud of the Legacy 3’s sound, and for this reason. Elegant Design. For the Legacy 3, we decided to go with a custom mechanical watch faceplate design. Each Legacy 3 is hand built from medical grade resin, and actual watch components are arranged by hand on the faceplate, before being sealed with resin. The result is an extremely detailed and elegant look, one that is different for every Legacy 3. Each earpiece takes almost an entire day to build, and the outcome is something that no mass produced product can ever achieve. Custom Upgrade Cable. The Legacy 3 was paired with a custom 7N 8-core OCC copper cable made specifically for the Legacy 3. We chose copper as it emphasizes the smooth and warm characteristic of the IEM, bringing to life the detail and texture within the sound. You won’t have to worry about buying any other cable for the Legacy 3.

Powerful bass and detailed highs.

This is a great option. The hype surrounding the internet is very true. The bass on them is very good, very low, very effective and tight. It doesn't spoil the overall sound. The highs are also very detailed. Vocals are flat. Also, they are very light and very comfortable.

Great for the price

I recently bought a Moondrop Starfield and also Ikko-01. Both are good, but I find this one more fun and exciting. The bass is more powerful and sounds more alive. The Legacy combines Starfield details and Ikko soundstage in one great product. Highly recommended. Good job Tiaudio.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Quality Control Issues - Update Fits In Ear Headphones

This is the second pair I've received, I sent the first one back because the connector on the right earbud was very loose (disconnected every 30 minutes, I tried bending 2 pins in a bit but didn't do anything). Not only did the second pair not come in the original packaging, but the left side makes a weird rustling noise, which didn't happen with the first pair. To be honest they sound fantastic with good bass, clear mids and great highs; I have another replacement but if the third pair still…

  • Absolute Legend

Not competitive at this price.

Pro: Honestly, no comparison to the competition. General. They have cool clockwork visible so some body art I think. Cons: - Bulky, not comfortable (generally and a lot compared to many single-dynamic IEMS drivers) - Massive V-shaped response - the most over-the-top I've heard in years, even among budget IEMs. - Mediocre cable - Sounds comparable to many mediocre hybrid IEMs at about half the price. Overall: I was very disappointed in them and ordered them after seeing Z's review. I don't know…

QC Issues update

Excellent IEM. *Compared to Starfield*

Extremely sharp, clear and detailed sound. The highs are sweet and bright, almost to the point of fatigue, but not quite. This adds articulation to the speech. The mids are natural, smooth and detailed. Bass is smooth and punchy, in contrast to the soft but muddy bass on my HD650. I actually like a bit of dirt in my headphones when they are detailed because it makes the headphones more relaxed and although they don't have a character of their own, which I really like. I like them a bit better…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
