Won't buy again - steps hard to see

Before buying I thought the red hand and black and white hour and minute hands would be noticeable enough to make the watch easy to read . If you're just trying to get a vague idea of the time, that's fair enough. If you're trying to time something with reasonable accuracy, such as E.g. egg timing, where minutes and seconds play a big role, it's not that cool. Why not? Due to the placement of the divisions on the dial. The face is fairly small, which is cute, but that smallness means there's not a lot of room for increments. It seems that Timex cheated a bit and made some moves too close to the numbers instead of spreading them out evenly. To see what I mean, please zoom in on the larger image of the dial before purchasing. Notice the minute gaps between the numbers? The lines don't quite line up where they should if you're really trying to calculate something. The second hand jumps from place to place BETWEEN the divisions and not along the markers. I have a time bear trying to figure out exactly where the minute hand is pointing because the increments aren't exactly where they should be. (Problem: It matters if you're not constantly looking at the watch, watching the hands turn while you're measuring something) Another negative, the dark leather strap sometimes stains my wrist. On the other hand, the indigo-lit dial works well. The ticking is so quiet that I had to turn off the air purifier and put the watch right up to my ear before I could hear the ticking. The minute and second hands have a partial coverage that glows after being exposed to strong light (e.g. outdoors/sunlight) for some time, but this is a very brief glow lasting a few minutes and is fairly faint. (Luminous hands are a separate feature from the Indigo feature, which lights up the dial at the push of a button.) If I had the option, I'd send this watch back and get one of Timex's Indigo analog watches with a large dial and cloth stripes instead. (Easier to read increments on a larger face. Washable fabric strap.) Either the Easy Reader or one of the Weekenders seems to avoid this little watch's shortcomings.
