Not very soft but really great quality. They are just like the picture. I, Judy, got it yesterday and just finished my daughter's hair with it after starting yesterday. she loves them Worth buying for what you get. My daughter is 15 years old, she is mixed race, she has fine thin hair and I have played decent, fairly small roles in boxing so far. So I only used 3 packs so not too thick but still really good full heads and it was enough for me to repeat again. First time I've made them before and it made it really easy. I used the elastic method to crochet them and twist the braid around the base. They worked very well to make them like this.
