Review on Kahtoola FBA_KT04 16 FG01 K 10 Hiking Crampons by Jack Robi

These high quality and lightweight crampons are made in the USA!

I love that this Kahtoola is a high quality product made in the USA. I had to pay 30-40% more than some other cats, but it's worth it. Before buying I bought crampons which I didn't know were made in China and they were very heavy and obviously low quality. So I ordered these Kahtoolas and am very happy with their light weight and easy handling with 2 simple clips. I like quality materials: metal, straps, clips. At first I was concerned that these crampons would have trouble binding on steep descents when the need for reliable traction is greatest. The big problem with micro cleats is that they don't stay securely on my boots. But Kahtoola held on very securely. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: As much as I love these Kahtoolas for serious hiking in hard snow and even fairly steep ice, I don't think they're made for glacier climbing. For that purpose, I'll stick with my Grivel. This is no blow to Kahtoola at all, but they serve a different purpose in my opinion.
