Great when snowshoes are not required. So far

They work great. Sometimes clumps of snow or mud get stuck, but you can't slip in the mud! It was weird to see some rust streaks after first use, but doesn't seem too bad. I've used them 3-4 times for 20-35 miles in snow and mud. I highly recommend it for snow situations where snowshoes are not required but also require more traction than boots. I would suggest using it on public trails with the usual courtesy. If used in a wet or muddy area, they CAN seriously affect the trail for others later

This men's ice work

I've fallen dozens of times on our ridiculously icy driveway, gravel road and terrain. We walk at least four, six, or eight miles a day, rain, snow, or sun, so this crampon set has been a lifesaver for the six months of ice we can get. I put them outside on a secure surface so we don't ruin our deck. The fabric does not allow snow to stick. We will buy another set for my husband. Some reviewers didn't like how heavy the clasp was when cold, but I had no trouble with it, and my hands aren't very

Sticky Stuff. for hiking boots

This weekend I used these crampons on an icy mountain trail. They worked fantastically. Captivating like nothing I've ever worn before. They were easy to set up, only took 5 minutes. They stayed where I put them, which is also important. I didn't want to change lanes. The locks worked perfectly. Very tight and safe. The foundation was amazing. After years of hiking without them, I will never walk on ice or snow without them again. Good quality, good price, easy to carry when not in use. Simply…

Traveled hundreds of miles and still valid

I bought them in 2018 and now in 2021. I've used these crampons on many long winter hikes in the Adirondack High Peak, Vermont's Green Mountains, and many mountain trails in between. They did a great job and never let me down. The only negatives I can think of are that the buckles are difficult to undo when iced up and the thin neoprene material that is supposed to keep sticky snow from sticking to the ground fell off and is now gone. (can be replaced but I didn't bother). If you're looking for

Used on PCT for outdoors

This year I used them on PCT with my Ultra Lone Peaks 4.0. So far I have ridden and used them from Kennedy Meadows to Kearsarge Pass and Independence. So about 90 miles to wear them. I'm not sure how many kilometers run in them. You've done the work. Better than micro spikes but not as good as full cats so make sure you understand this when you buy them. We used them when crossing the Forster Pass and they did their job. In this case it would have been better to have boots with me, but I did…

These high quality and lightweight crampons are made in the USA!

I love that this Kahtoola is a high quality product made in the USA. I had to pay 30-40% more than some other cats, but it's worth it. Before buying I bought crampons which I didn't know were made in China and they were very heavy and obviously low quality. So I ordered these Kahtoolas and am very happy with their light weight and easy handling with 2 simple clips. I like quality materials: metal, straps, clips. At first I was concerned that these crampons would have trouble binding on steep…

Amazing Outdoor Cats

Before I start this review, please note that I purchased this from the Fuel for Adventure seller. If there is one word to describe this seller, it is amazing. For starters, by purchasing micro spikes/cats from REI. For the last 5 years I've been hesitant to buy Revain cleats/micro cleats because one of the micro cleats I've bought that had really good reviews failed to walk. In the snow. Having vowed not to buy micro cleats/cramps here, my friend recommended I try the Kahtoola K10 as they match

Traction was great. K10 did not switch to .

January 31st, 2015: Today I tested my new Kahtoola K10. Conditions were 20 degrees Fahrenheit, about 10 inches of loose snow over hard packer and ice. Traction was great, but the terrain wasn't particularly challenging. On my boots (Scarpa Kailash GTX) the K10 didn't move at all, unlike my Kahtoola microcleats (which still offer really impressive traction and weigh nothing in the pack). But I found two flaws when I returned to my car and attempted to remove the K10. First, the K10s are held in…
