Review on 🦷 Upgrade Your Oral Care Routine with Rechargeable Electronic Toothbrush Replacement Heads by Melissa Brown

Revainrating 1 out of 5

You get what you pay for, so run as fast as you can!

Full disclosure, I bought this from another site but I'm here to share my experience as this brand seems to be selling well here at Revain. I bought 5 of these sets (3 gray pens and 2 blue pens) from December 2021 to January 2022. My biggest concern was that the brush heads would probably wear out quickly because of the cheap bristles, but no, the handles are the problem. I get by with just one brush head and the handles no longer work. I always try to cycle my battery by fully charging it with a quality charger (Samsung or Apple brand) and I never leave the battery fully discharged or hold the handle on the charger for hours after charging is complete. It starts off well, I do 3-4 full charge cycles (6-8 weeks) and then the pen starts shutting off prematurely. In both cases, the problem starts immediately after a full charge. I know the battery is charged, but maybe 10 seconds after cleaning, the pen turns off. It's supposed to pause at 30-second intervals, but it's a tough stop. I thought I accidentally pressed the button and turned it off, I restart it and 3 seconds later it turns off again. Once it starts it never comes back, the pen doesn't stay on for any useful time. The first time this happened I marked it as bad in a bunch. I took it apart, disconnected the battery for recycling and discarded the leftovers. At first glance everything looked fine inside, no obvious signs of liquid damage. I opened up the second set and like clockwork, after 3-4 recharges, this one started to do the same. The first had a gray handle, this one was blue so I can imagine another batch. This time I tried to get an extra life out of it by gently tapping it on a hard surface, suddenly it started working as it should and allowed me (4) 30 second cycles but it only did Lasted 2 rounds and then it was gone again after a short time and makes it unusable. In the end, all the lights on the front panel lit up by themselves for no reason. After I removed the second lamp for inspection, the whole interior smelled like a burned electronic component. If you look closely you can see where part of the circuitry is blown, it's the black area under the gold colored button in the close-up. This area of the board seems to be closest to where the battery connects to the board, so it's hard to tell if this was caused by a cheap battery or by the charging process crashing the circuit, though one way or another. There is a design error that leads directly to total failure. The summary of this review lives up to the title. You think you're buying a basic electric toothbrush at a great price, what can go wrong? From someone who is very mindful of proper charging methods and takes good care of their electronics, I can tell you this is a failure. Look elsewhere as once they fail (they will) you will have no footing for good luck in contacting Viod to secure the product. Each pen has never gone through a brush head change and the brush heads are not compatible with other brands so you don't need different heads, they all end up in the trash much sooner than they should.
