I needed a cutting mat to work on my Gundam models. I've never had either, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought it was a soft rug with a painted trellis. The mat is made of high-quality hard rubber-like material. I am very impressed. This will take some time. It has two pages with different grids and measurement charts to guide you. They are very clear and concise and should be very useful. I bought the black mat thinking the mesh would look a lot sharper on the black mat. I recommend the black carpet. It looks amazing. I'm very happy and can't start working on my Gundam models.
