Our first care, we had three different baths for our son. The first one we used in the sink for the very first few days when it needed to be rocked. The second was an adorable inflatable duck that was beautiful, comfortable and well traveled. The third, which we've been using for a while, was a small plastic whale tub with a slope. Everything served its purpose well, but it would be nice if one item could be used throughout the birth of the child. Well, this item seems to have fulfilled that wish while looking adorable. My first impression is that it is very well made. The plastic is strong and not slippery. This is very important because the last thing you want to worry about is your child slipping on their back underwater. Of course, you'll immediately be watching their every move, but this is a security issue that shouldn't be overlooked. I just love that this tub is a self contained unit with a faucet/shower head. The hose is very long, but that's not a problem because the shorter it is, the less it will get in the way or get tangled. The belt for the first few days is just great! This allows your newborn to lie in the cradle and be comfortable for the first baths when the baby still remembers the feel of the womb. Filling the bathtub up to the sling allows the baby to be in the water, and the cups allow you to gently pour water on parts that are above the water. In the next step, you can lower the end of the sling at the side of the legs so that the child sits at an angle and the sling cushions it. This eliminates the need to use a towel under baby to keep him from slipping in the water, which we did with our son's whale bath. When your child is old enough to sit up unaided, you can remove the sling and have the child sit in a small carrycot area. I really like that the child still has a limited and safe space for their own bathing. For the final step, you can remove the water tank and place it in the adult tub to give your little one more space to explore during the transition. from her baby bath. I absolutely recommend this tub to anyone looking for a product that will last throughout the infant, toddler, and toddler stages. It will also be a great option for homes without a bathtub. The plug makes it easy to drain the water when bath time is over, the tub material is easy to clean and I love that the sling is machine washable. At its current price of $75, I would call it a luxury, although it fully justifies its cost. Definitely one for the children's register.
