Okay, first let me tell you that I have several of these at home and some of them are old and no longer available. I wanted to add more and had problems. Hope this helps as I'll be returning a few until I figure out what the problem is. I gave the new four stars because the instructions were not complete to solve my problem. I had to go online. You need to update Smart Life when mixing old with new. After discovering this fix, everything ran smoother. You also want to make sure you tap the switch on the third step to confirm the light is blinking, otherwise you won't get to the next step, which is the final connection. After these two steps, everything synced up nicely. I use them around the house but just recently I needed a way to notify the people in my house when they were in their bedrooms that I needed help post surgery. I just turned on the light via Remote Smart Life and they knew I needed help. This is salvation. Another issue: I wanted to be able to turn on the light at the patio remote switch so my pup could see me going down the stairs and I couldn't access the light without going outside. I just couldn't do this because the flipper on the outlet was blocking the switch that had to be pressed to sync the device. If they switched I would have to press the other side down, that would work great. In any case, my rating is very good, except for the last guide, I would give it five stars. Hope that helps.
