Bought to replace another manufacturer's product when I realized I couldn't buy a replacement cap! So that seemed like a good solution. Indeed it is, except for the smaller tank, and that's a little short of the claimed 30 hours of use on a full (to the top) tank. Only about 30 minutes shorter, so not a killer. As for the outlet... it releases water vapor. Significant humidity when I need it. And it's a soft whisper, as one would expect from something like this. We used the timer function once but woke up with dry air in the room so my wife manually turned it back on and asked us not to do it again. "Sleep mode. A very small and unobtrusive pink light comes on when you need to refill. There is no alarm for anything to disturb sleep. You can see the entire tank at a glance. In terms of cleaning, I have found that you don't have to do this as often as the manufacturer suggests and just fill the tank with warm water and a teaspoon of bleach and let it sit for 10 minutes before draining and rinsing. The paper towel in the bottom block then wipes any accumulated buildup or "things". I do this every 2 weeks and it's just great. I read a negative review about it that said their unit started giving off "toxic" moisture almost on the second day. Mine In my opinion it must be really bad water they are using, this doesn't seem to be a device or technology fault.
