I bought this key case to replace an existing one that was starting to break. I saw a video someone posted on how to remove an old metal key from old plastic - he used a vise, I used pliers. It wasn't easy, but I made it! As for fitting into the new part, I actually used 2 pliers to carefully insert the new plastic into the metal key. Then I assembled the body and didn't forget to remove the black tape from the Lexus icon! The buttons are a bit sunken or "deeper" than on the old key fob, but are still very easy to press. I actually bought a 2 pack and they both work the same way; Interesting, the design is to prevent accidental button presses in my pocket! In any case, this is by no means a deal breaker and I am very happy with the product, the price and the speed of delivery!
