Purchased for my Sony Vaio - I don't know of any other devices that use either of these things, but I got it to fill the Memory Stick Pro Duo slot on my laptop with something (I hope it is - useful), since the laptop is equipped with an open slot that attracts dust and other things. Large GB sizes were even more exorbitant than this 4GB flash drive (especially when compared to similarly sized GB microSD cards), so I went with the 4GB size, hoping the OS would accept the card would recognize and use for ReadyBoost. When the flash drive arrived it was overpackaged for its size (usually in a paper wrapper). The USB stick is inserted almost flush with the case in the Vaio laptop slot. The operating system (Windows 8.1 "Upgrade" 64-bit) recognizes the flash drive and allows it to be fully used for ReadyBoost (minus the usual file system overheads and those that take up real usable space on ANY drive). /memory card). The operating system allows a maximum of 3.73 GB and uses all but 5.84 MB of memory for ReadyBoost. Quantity/price, this card seems to do what I need. However, I wonder if other cards that act as pass-through cards for microSD cards can do what this card does at a much lower cost per GB of RAM.
