Review on 🥧 Deliciously Compact: Dash Mini Pie Maker in Vibrant Red by Marty Drury

I love my Dash Mini Waffle Maker and Skillet and use them often so I was very happy to find this little cake oven. It pains me to say this, but I am very disappointed about it. I suspect this could be defective. . It burns the edges to charcoal before the rest of the cake is even done. I tried 3 different crust recipes and different thicknesses. The pies cook in about 6 minutes and are delicious — once the edge of the charcoal crust is removed — but it's ugly and I really wouldn't need it. All of my recipes are sugar free and low carb, but I doubt that explains the complexity. It seems that the heating element only gets very hot at the edge. (The photos show a recent attempt at a sugar-free jicama apple pie with a buttery almond flour crust.)
