I'm a very short 19 year old, works in construction - I'm on my feet all day lifting things like concrete , tiles and wood . I bought these shoes because tennis shoes made my feet too vulnerable. For the most part I was happy with the boots. They provided shelter and protection from sawdust, gravel and concrete. The splints had better grip than the tennis shoes, so I slipped less. I wore them all winter when I had to go out in the cold several times a day and they kept my feet warm. But I wouldn't recommend them as winter shoes. They are not waterproof so if I was in the snow for too long my feet would get wet. Still better weather protection than tennis shoes. However, I am a bit disappointed with the durability. It only took about 4 months before I started getting pinholes in the skin near the sole. I wore them for another 4 months. They're not totally unwearable, but both boots have a few holes in them. I only had to wear them for 8 months before I had to replace them - for almost $70 I was hoping for more. I will be looking for something more durable for my next pair. I would recommend these as hiking shoes but make sure to treat them with a water repellent beforehand. Suitable for medium use but not for intensive use.
