I have chosen to combine this Panasonic compact hair dryer with Conair's Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Conditioning Cord Keeper Styler and Hair Dryer, with Folding Handle, Blue , to compare. What makes the Conair better: Significantly cheaper and has a retractable cord, 1875 watts vs the Panasonic's 1400 watts. What Panasonic does better: Dries hair a minute faster, hair feels a little smoother compared to Conair, an ounce lighter than Conair, lighter cleaner filter, a little quieter than Conair. Overall the Panasonic outperforms the Conair, however the cost is such that most people will find the Conair more than adequate for their needs. Also, I mention in the video that I also recommend the Hot Sock Diffuser, which fits any size hair dryer.
